I’m re-launching my artwork newsletter with some fabulous new designs and a renewed focus on my book series & paintings. I’m also combining my Substack Autism Mother Letters & creativity newsletters into this one “Emily Lupita Series” newsletter.
My new book series is called Autism Brothers Books and will feature stories and illustrations of my two Autistic sons on exciting travel adventures…so this feels like the best way to organize things going forward. 💗

About Me
A little about my background…I grew up wild on a self-sustainable homestead in rural Iowa, and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Central College + Masters of Fine Art from Iowa State University. I’m a life-long watercolor artist and a nationally published poet & writer. I spent seven years abroad studying & teaching in Mexico, Wales, Spain, and Japan, and afterwards had a career in international education, traveling the world with my students. Then I became a Mama + full-time home caregiver to my sons, Charlie + Archie. They are both Autistic on very different places along the Spectrum.
Artwork & Writing
I write & publish books of my original artwork & stories for children through my Emily Lupita art studio. I create all the illustrations in my newsletters using a combination of Procreate, Canva, and Waterlogue.
My creative work is inspired by my Mexican-American + Welsh heritage, my childhood in rural Iowa, my work as an international educator, and my daily life with my two beautiful boys.
